Trophy history:

In 1995, Following Therese and Len Mason’s tragic loss of their eldest son Simon at the hands of a drunken driver while out cycling in 1993, Len, Therese and all the family wished to donate a trophy to the club to be known as the Simon Mason Trophy they felt that a Road Race trophy was most appropriate, because of Simon’s great interest in road racing.

We were honoured to receive this trophy, and it will serve as a reminder to all members when it is awarded each year to a young man who was highly regarded by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

The trophy will be awarded annually to the highest-placed member in a nominated Category 1/2/3 Road Race.
