13 - The Gilbert Veteran Best All-rounder championship trophy
Awarded annually to the Veteran with the most significant improvement in miles per hour on the appropriate standard as published by the VTTA over 1 x 10 miles, 1 x 25 miles and 1 x 50 miles in Club, Association and Open events
Trophy history:
Donated to the club in 1955 by Mr and Mrs Gilbert of Maidstone.
Gilbert’s was a cycling shop at the top of Week Street in Maidstone in the 1930s, 40s, 50s and 60s. Mr and Mrs Gilbert were very generous towards the Club and donated several trophies over the years.
