March Update

Rye and back racing challenge

We are reviving and updating an event that has been missing from the calendar for a few years. Sunday 4 June is the date to mark in your diary if you would like to ride this. The ride starts and finishes at Headcorn airstrip and takes a route to Tenterden then south through Wittersham to Iden. Here it turns east & via Appledore it returns to Tenderden where it retraces the outward route to the start.

There are 8 timed segments selected to avoid traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, shopping areas and descending steep and twisty roads and to give a bit of respite in between.

All the details can be found on the club website events section here.

Our Birthday Lunch - our biggest annual get together.

There has been a fantastic response to the Birthday Lunch so far. I am hoping that we have a turn out of 100 + members which will be excellent.

Please book in good time if you want to come so that we can plan for numbers. All the details of the event and the booking links are on the website.

London Velodrome Club Session

The club has booked an exclusive track session at the Lee Valley Velodrome on 17th June at 16.00-18.00.  Numbers are initially limited to 16 if we have just one coach, currently we have 10 riders booked already, so book your place through the club store as soon as possible if you want to reserve your  space. https://membermojo.co.uk/sfacc/store

You do not have to be an experienced track rider to join in.  Riding on a fixed wheel bike on the Olympic track is an amazing experience and will improve your riding.  Most of our new top pros learnt their trade on the track, and its never too late to learn.

Track bikes are available to hire at £13.  They have Look Keo pedals, and you can hire shoes at £9 if you don’t have compatible shoes.

You can bring your own bike if you have a track bike that meets their specifications. Contact our club track secretary if you need more information.

All these details on the website.

Try it out rides

do you know how well regarded these are?

Our first try it out ride of the year is at the end of March. We get amazing feedback from these rides and often people join the club after riding with us.

If you know anybody who would enjoy being part of the club but wants to experience something of what is on offer please invite them to join. Anybody can join one of these free rides via the website.

Too Much to List

There are actually too many events to list individually but all the details are on the website

And finally, we are always looking for help with our events so if there is anything on the calendar you would like to contribute to, please get in touch or just add details of what you would like to do on your club membership record.
