From the Presidents…

As Club Presidents, our role is largely ceremonial - to make sure that the Club is in good hands, and steered the right way. So with the changing of the Guard, we wanted to say a few ‘thank yous’ to people stepping down from the Board this year who have given a huge amount to the club.

Lise Taylor-Vebel has created for us a fabulous magazine, and used her graphic design skills to ensure it competes in quality with professionally produced magazines. We are sure that the magazine will be in good hands as Caroline takes it over, but want to say a huge thank you to Lise for all her work for the last 10 years.

Steve Chevis has significantly improved the way we support club members, and, as importantly, has improved our club kit. More of us are wearing it than ever before, with 1/3 of us owning centenary jerseys. Thank you Steve.

Russell Chidwick has been our campaigning voice, making sure we represent members’ interests to the local councils and police authorities. He’s kept us on the map.

Natalie Ceeney is also stepping down as Chair of the club. A big thanks to her for the amazing job she has done in steering the club during a period of transition so that it can continue to be the amazing club it is. This has involved a lot of work to streamline those parts of the club that needed it and to take the club forward with new initiatives. She has been very responsive to isssues and ideas as they have arisen. Thanks Nat - now go climb a hill!

The one thing that Natalie feels she has not been particularly successful in has been increasing the number of volunteers! Please help when you can, even if it’s just supporting one event. I know that Natalie, Steve, Lise and Russell will all be amongst those that step forward. It would be great if you can too. The future of our club is in all of our hands.

Yours, John and Kate Bosley
