aubrey ring
junior BAR trophy
19 - the aubrey ring junior best all rounder Trophy
It is awarded annually to the Junior member as defined by CTT with the highest average speed of over 10 miles and 2 x 25 miles per hour in Club, Association and Open events promoted on Q courses.
Trophy history:
On 19th March 1949, the club celebrated its 27th Birthday with a party at the Singing Kettle in Lenham. The tea was followed by a social evening. During the evening, Aubrey Ring presented the club with a trophy to be held by the Junior Champion for a year. Arthur Goodhew, in a short speech, thanked Aubrey in the name of the club for his very kind gesture.
Before acquiring distinct trophies for some Championships in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, the winners were presented with plaques, sometimes mounted on a wooden board. A dedicated club member or a local business often donated them. These were personal and were engraved with their name.
In 1948-1962, this was decided on average speeds over 10, 25 and 30 miles.
