Potholes and trail hazards are responsible for 12% of compensation claims by CTC members.
They can now be reported directly to the appropriate Local Authority by using the CTC's revolutionary new on-line service
Once notified the local authority is obliged to make repairs.
Cyclists pinpoint the site of the pothole or obstruction by zooming in using a satellite imaging system. This identifies the spot, provides map coordinates and communicates the information directly to the appropriate Local Authority.
Other cyclists can check the websites to see what's been reported and, if after a suitable interval the hole still hasn't been repaired and someone crashes into it, the proof is there that the council knew about it.
