Plan for tomorrow is a ride to New Ash Green, Kirkies cafe.
Due to the risk of thunder storms and rain, this ride may be curtailed short to avoid risk to rider safety, by diverting to either West Kingsdown or Jungle cafe. I will endevour to do as may miles as possible in good conditions, and may offer an addditional tea stop if the weather turns bad.
Ably led by Philip Thorpe we departed Marden at 09:00 in wonderful sunshine.
Two punctures and a snapped chain later we arrived at the gliding club for a welcome break. The weather remained fine allowing us all to sit outside and watch the gliders being winched into the sky at an incredible angle!
The ride back via Headcorn saw the weather gradually deteriorate forcing a brief stop to don wet weather jackets. A great ride overall - thank you Phil.

An excellent ride led by Kevin to a wonderful little bakery and cafe called Will's in Northiam. Outside tables had been reserved by Kevin. Without asking, jugs of water were immediately provided. The staff were a little concerned over catering for a relatively large group (14) but they coped extremely well. Very friendly and attentive with great portions.
Want a caffeine boast? Order a 'Flat White'. It is 'off menu' and, in this case, consists of a triple shot! £1.85 - very reasonable.
Despite the forecast, the weather stayed dry with some lovely bursts of sunshine. Some wonderful scenery and roads. Click the image below to view in Strava
